A good class puts the tools in your hands. You sketch a design, melt the metal in a crucible, hammer and roll it into wire or sheet, then saw, file, solder and polish it into a finished piece. Your instructor demonstrates each step and steps in when you need a hand.
Most studios include a set amount of silver (typically 5–7 grams – enough for a ring or pendant), all tools and safety gear, and a welcome drink. Extras such as gold plating, gemstones, engraving or additional silver are usually priced separately.
Silver is the classic choice: it holds detail well and lasts a lifetime. Brass is softer, faster and cheaper, a good option for kids or a quick first try, and at Echo Silver every brass piece is gold plated for free.

How much does a jewelry making class in Bali cost?
Most silver classes in Bali cost between IDR 500.000 and IDR 1.200.000 per person depending on the amount of silver, the class length and whether the session is private. At Echo Silver Canggu a single silver class is IDR 600.000, a couple class is IDR 1.200.000 and the brass workshop is IDR 500.000 – materials, tools, tuition and drinks included.
How long does a jewelry making class take?
Typically 1 to 3 hours. A simple band can be done in under two hours; a ring with a gemstone setting or detailed pendant takes closer to three. Echo Silver classes are around three hours so nobody has to rush.
Do I need experience to join a jewelry class?
No. Almost everyone who joins has never touched a silversmith’s tool before. The instructor demonstrates each step and guides your hands where needed, so beginners finish a real, wearable piece.
What can I make in a Bali jewelry class?
Rings are the most popular choice, followed by pendants. Bangles, earrings and small charms are possible too. Popular designs include hammered bands, wave rings, signet-style rings, stacking sets and rings set with a small gemstone.
